Call your doctor or vet if:
- A tick is attached and you are unable to remove the entire tick.
- A red rash appears that resembles a bullseye. This rash can expand over the course of days. You might not see the tick, but the bullseye rash is indicative of the Lyme infection.
Lyme Symptoms and Complications in Humans:
- Body aches
- Skin rash
- Swollen lymph glands
- Memory Loss
- Cardiac involvement
- Brain involvement
Dogs infected with Lyme disease may not show any signs for 2-5 months.
Canine Lyme Symptoms That Should Trigger Testing:
- Loss of appetite
- Joint swelling
- Decreased activity
- Damage to the kidneys
- Heat disease
- Brain and/or spinal cord injury
Call your doctor if you have a red rash that resembles a bullseye.
